About the Classes:
Kerrie’s classes are known for their fun and friendly atmosphere, offering expert advice and guidance to help you learn to sew with confidence or enhance your existing sewing skills.
Course Content:
In our Sew Confident classes, you’ll have the opportunity to create the popular ‘Greta Bag.’ Designed by Kerrie, this versatile bag features pockets on the front and back, along with an almost hidden zipper for your phone and an envelope zipper pocket for easy access to keys and small change. With an adjustable strap and ample storage space, the Greta Bag is a perfect all-rounder.
Finished Size of the ‘Greta Bag’: Width – 11 1/2″, Height – 13″, Depth – 3″
Please note that classes will only run with a minimum of 3 attendees.
Skills Learned:
Throughout the course, you’ll acquire various skills, including:
- Accurate fabric cutting using mats, rulers, and rotary cutters
- Seam allowances and finishing raw edges professionally
- Assembling and sewing pieces together
- Three different zipper installation techniques
- Making sturdy handles
- Sewing with cork/leatherette (optional)
- Straight line quilting
- Using a walking foot and zipper foot
- Tips and tricks for zipper applications
Materials:
Please note that materials are not included in the course fee. You will need:
- Single-sided In R Form
- Half meter of fabric for the bag exterior
- Half meter of fabric for the bag lining
- Half meter of cork/leatherette/pretty fabric
- Half meter fusible In R Form
- 1 x 16″ zipper
- 1 x 8″ zipper
- 2 x D rings
- 2 x swivel hooks
- 1 x slider
All materials can be purchased at the event.
Please ensure your availability for the selected workshop date, as bookings are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled or transferred. Living In Loveliness reserves the right to reschedule or cancel classes, with attendees offered the opportunity to reschedule or receive a full refund in such cases.
Please note that the workshop requires a minimum of four attendees to proceed.
Snow & Severe Weather Policy:
In the event of inclement weather, your safety is our top priority. We’ll provide ample notice in case of class cancellation. If no communication is received, classes are running as scheduled. Should a class be canceled, alternative dates will be offered. If you choose not to attend the rescheduled session and the workshop proceeds as planned, your booking will not be transferred or refunded.
