Welcome Living in Loveliness

Crafting friendships – creating memories

How exciting! It’s been almost ten year since I launched my Living In Loveliness sewing/craft workshops. After quitting a very stressful sales job when they applied to much pressure just days after giving birth to our youngest son Chase my husband suggested getting out my sewing machine. For me personally sewing started as a hobby on maternity leave when my youngest son was born. I consider myself self-taught despite a little cushion sewing in high school and I’ve made every mistake more than once! Along my sewing journey I’ve stumbled across lots of super easy hacks and get so much pleasure sharing my hints and tips at classes.

Kerrie started her pattern writing journey after applying for a TV ‘Search for a Star’ competition in which she was successful. Not long after, Kerrie launched her first six patterns on the Hochanda TV channel on 19th October 2019 and has since written over 300 patterns. Kerrie is a Mum of three who married her school sweetheart, Craig Padmore. Kerrie and Craig run ‘Living In Loveliness’ together in the West Midlands. Whilst Kerrie does what she calls ‘all the fun, pretty stuff’, Craig produces all the pattern booklets, templates and diagrams.

Kerrie and Craig manufacture all their patterns and kits each of which are cut and ‘Packed with Loveliness’ by themselves and their team. When Kerrie was asked why she loves designing, she said, “There is so much more to fabric and designing than the pattern on each piece of fabric. There’s also a story. Often there’s a whole lifetime of meaning and emotion that goes into each moment we get lost in the love of fabric and passion for teaching and designing. I’m so thrilled I get to share my passion, excitement and journey with you. Wow! So soppy! But yeah, that’s pretty much how most of my designs come about. With every doodle I draw for a new design, the inspiration comes from the emotion I feel when looking at, holding and touching the fabric and appreciating the love and passion that goes into it by its designer. Ultimately the fabric designs the pattern – I just doodle and jot it down.”

Kerrie loves running workshops and says “heart lies with bringing people together through my passion for people, crafting and sewing. I absolutely adore my beautiful business Living In Loveliness because it brings me so much pleasure seeing people relax and enjoy sewing. The best feeling is seeing the look on people’s faces with every stitch sewn. Even the stitch unpicking is part of the journey”

During the past six years I’ve been nominated and received several awards including best Craft Centre 2017 and 2018 and The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. Both my eldest children also received this award because I encourage them to always ‘pay it forward’.

Kerrie can be seen on the Sewing Street and HobbyMaker TV channels launching a stunning array of new patterns and kits every month.

I look forward to every class and have made some fabulous friends, I love meeting new people and sharing my passion for sewing.

I look forward to sewing with you soon

Lots of Love

Kerrie
