About the Classes:

Kerrie’s classes are designed to be enjoyable and welcoming, offering expert guidance to help you learn to sew with confidence or enhance your existing sewing skills.

Course Content:

In our Patchwork classes, you’ll have the opportunity to create the popular ‘Straw Flower Quilt,’ a design by Kerrie to suit both beginner and experienced sewists alike. This quilt features half-square triangles, easy piecing, and straightforward sashing, making it ideal for showcasing your favorite fabrics while mastering simple piecing techniques.

Skills Learned:

Throughout the course, you’ll acquire various skills, including:

  • Accurate fabric cutting using mats, rulers, and rotary cutters
  • Easy piecing methods
  • Chain piecing techniques
  • Utilizing a 1/4″ foot and a walking foot
  • Learning to mitre corners
  • Attaching binding to your quilt

Please note that this is a four-part course, and there may not be sufficient time to quilt your ‘Straw Flower Quilt’ within the designated sessions. However, additional sessions will be available for those interested in completing their quilting journey.

Materials:

The course fee does not include materials, so please ensure you have the following:

  • Fabric 1: Grey (1/2 meter, 44″ wide)
  • Fabric 2: Small Blue Ditsy (3/4 meter, 44″ wide)
  • Fabric 3: Large Blue Flower (1/2 meter, 44″ wide)
  • Fabric 4: Green (1/2 meter, 44″ wide)
  • Fabric 5: Small White Ditsy (1/2 meter, 44″ wide)
  • Batting: 44″ x 44″ (available for purchase at class)
  • Backing and Binding fabric: 1 1/2 meters, 44″ wide

Please ensure your availability for the selected workshop date, as bookings are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled or transferred. Living In Loveliness reserves the right to reschedule or cancel classes, with attendees offered the opportunity to reschedule or receive a full refund in such cases.

Please note that the workshop requires a minimum of four attendees to proceed.

Snow & Severe Weather Policy:

In the event of inclement weather, your safety is our top priority. We’ll provide ample notice in case of class cancellation. If no communication is received, classes are running as scheduled. Should a class be canceled, alternative dates will be offered. If you choose not to attend the rescheduled session and the workshop proceeds as planned, your booking will not be transferred or refunded.
