Workshop Overview
I’m absolutely delighted to be welcoming my fabulous friend Katharine Wright from Leicestershire Craft Centre to Studio 8 to teach her super popular quilted jacket workshop. Katharine and I have worked together for over four years, and I’m so excited for you to experience her brilliant teaching style and creativity firsthand.
Join us for a fantastic two-day course combining patchwork, quilting, and dressmaking all in one! Suitable for all levels, this workshop will guide you through creating your very own quilted jacket using Katharine’s brand new pattern.
You’ll learn essential techniques including patchwork piecing, basic quilting, and garment construction, all in a friendly and supportive environment. Whether you’re new to sewing or looking to expand your skills, this is a truly special project to be part of.
During This Workshop You Will:
- Learn patchwork piecing techniques
- Explore basic quilting methods
- Construct your own wearable quilted jacket
- Gain confidence working across quilting and dressmaking skills
- Follow a professionally designed pattern step-by-step

Advisory Note
Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Some basic sewing knowledge may be helpful but is not essential. Suitable for ages 16+

- Tips and techniques for combining quilting with dressmaking
What You’ll Make:
A beautifully handmade quilted jacket, designed and sewn entirely by you using Katharine’s brand new pattern.

You will need:
- Fabric of your choice (quantities will be provided after booking)
Fabric is not included in the workshop price. Full fabric requirements will be emailed to you after booking, and we’re happy to advise on suitable options.
We also offer a discount on fabric purchased through us if you’d like help sourcing the perfect materials.

Important Venue & Parking Information
Parking & Approach:

Follow directions to park at the back of the building

As you approach, turn right and follow signs for café parking

Walk towards the café, then proceed to the front of the building

You will need to walk through a small brown gate to reach the main entrance, marked by a “Entrance” sign
Meeting Time:

I will meet you in the entrance area at 9:50am

Please don’t be late — I am unable to come down to collect you once the class has started

If you are late, you will miss out on the session, and no refunds or transfers will be given

If you arrive earlier, please wait in the on-site café, the building is a working business hub

There is a lift inside the building to bring sewing machines up to Studio 8 on the first floor
Early Arrival
There is a café on-site which you are welcome to use if you arrive early. Please still make your way to the side of the building before 9:55am so you don’t miss the class start.
