Description
Remembrance Poppy Quilt
More Than a Pattern — A Story in Fabric
The Poppy Quilt isn’t just a pattern — it’s a tribute. It comes with 28 pages of beautifully illustrated, step-by-step diagrams and photographs, along with 6 A3 templates, each one hand-drawn by Craig.
Asking Craig to draw the poppy himself was incredibly important to me. It was his way of honouring the friends he lost and creating a lasting symbol of remembrance from his own hand. Each petal, each curve of that poppy, carries the weight of memory and the strength of love.
What the Quilt Represents
Every colour and every stitch has a story:
-
🩶 Grey — for the uncertainty and transitions of military life.
-
🖤 Black — for the weight of duty, loss and sacrifice.
-
🤍 White — for resilience, hope and the lasting legacy of those who served.
Red for the poppy (symbol of Remembrance)
The quilt’s raw edges are intentional, a nod to the unfinished stories and lingering emotions that come with service and remembrance. It’s imperfect in the most beautiful way, just like the memories we hold close.
Sewing with Purpose
This year, The Poppy Quilt is available for £5 (usually £10), with 100% of every sale donated to the Royal British Legion. It’s my small way of giving back, of turning creativity into compassion and fabric into something that helps others.
When we visit the memorial this year, we’ll carry not only our poppies, but also the love and support of this amazing sewing community. Together, we can stitch remembrance into something lasting, a shared act of love, service and gratitude.
From My Heart
There’s a strength that comes with being an army wife, a quiet pride that sits alongside worry, hope and deep respect. Watching Craig draw the poppy and then seeing it come to life within this quilt reminded me how creativity can heal, connect and honour those we love.
Creating The Poppy Quilt has been one of the most emotional and meaningful projects I’ve ever designed. Every stitch feels like a whisper of thanks, every petal a story remembered.
My hope is that when you make this quilt, you’ll feel the same, that quiet connection between love, memory, and gratitude.
Together, let’s sew a little love and remembrance into the world.
With love and pride, always,
Kerrie x
